The Sun King

A splendid, charming and wonderful Danish romantic comedy.

On his first job as an electrician apprentice, while changing the pipes in the tanning beds at Golden Sun, Tommy meets the owner. A middle-aged former Miss Fyn called Susse. Slowly an unusual love affair begins. Tommy’s two friends Ole & Flemming give him tips on how to give Golden Sun some masculine appeal. Susse just happens to have a sleazy lawyer that does not appreciate the new look.

ACTION

Tommy is a young 30 year old man who stills lives at home in his parents’ garage. He takes a self-development course because he has a hard time being with other people – especially if those people are of the opposite sex. As a matter of fact, he has still to get together with a girl! He is sent to job training with an electrician – a job he manages to have for a whopping two days before getting fired because of a mistake he made. But he also gets to meet the rich widow Susse who – in her solitude – finds Tommy interesting in spite of the age difference of 29 years! She hires Tommy as technical manager of her chain of tanning salons to keep him close in the hope of them getting together. Then, Tommy hires his two buddies from the self-development class, Ole Finland and Flemming Kok, who have some wild ideas for the business. Naturally, Susse and Tommy must go through a bunch of misunderstandings before he saves her life, she finds out she is pregnant and they end up leaving each other.
