Martin gets a student job as a night watchman at the Institute of Forensic Medicine and has to make regular rounds in the rooms where the bodies are located before they are being buried.

In the meantime, a series of gruesome murders on women take place in Copenhagen and a lot of mysterious things start to happen in the institute. Martin finds himself being whirled into the murder cases and is shocked to find out that most leads point towards him.

ACTION

In the centre of the story are the two law students and friends Martin and Jens. One is fairly reasonable, the other is close to mad. During a lecture they make a bet on who can first confront the other with a task, which he does not dare to carry through with. What began as a game gradually becomes more and more serious. However, Martin especially is about to get into even more trouble. He takes a summer job at the medico.legal institute. Here he meets detective Wörmer who is investigating a series of horrific murders. Suddenly mysterious things begin to happen in the basements of the institute – someone is trying to make Martin go insane. He is spun into a web of well-arranged circumstantial evidence that all point to him as the killer.
