Charlot & Charlotte

A road movie in four parts by Ole Bornedal

The series presents itself as a four part road-movie – portraying the lives of two very different young women; Charlot and Charlotte. They accidentally meet and end up driving together all the way through Denmark – from Copenhagen to Skagen. Throughout their journey, they meet all sorts of different people – from the senile Birksted and the psychopathic mass-murderer Poul-Teddy, to a theatre troupe and the various inhabitants of a nursing home – governed by a tyrannical matron. The naïve and country-fried Charlotte learns the value of spontaneity from the hip city girl Charlot, while she in turn learns how the earthbound and intimate can affect one in positive ways.
